For the month of September, to honour Truth and Reconciliation, we will be inviting staff and students to wear orange shirts or other reconciliation wear, EVERY FRIDAY!!!!  

In addition, Orange Shirt day themed story walks are now set up at Rotary Park, Memorial Garden's, Maude Burke park and Broadway Park.

Our first hot lunch of the year is going to be TJ’s Pizza.  

It will be held on:

Wednesday, September 18 - Kindergarten Green, Mrs Dickie, Ms Armstrong, Mrs Campbell, Mrs Hoffman/Gray, Mrs Calow

Thursday, September 19 - Kindergarten Yellow, Mrs Batiuk, Mrs BN/Kezema, Mrs Froehlich, Mr Gendall, Mrs Hoenmanns

The cost for this hot lunch will be;

-Pepperoni pizza slice $4

-Chicken caesar salad $10

For this lunch we are using the North East School Division’s online portal for ordering and payment.  Visa, Mastercard and Visa Debit payment is available on the portal.

• Enter in your student’s name, and under department select ‘Reynolds Central School’. Click submit.

• If you have multiple students repeat these steps to add them.

• Once your student(s) are entered, click on Purchase items

• Use the drop down menu to select your student’s hot lunch day/grade/teacher and the item to order. *please ensure you have selected the correct class off the list* Click submit.

• Repeat this step for all items and all students.

• Once all items are added to order click on Checkout

• Follow the on screen steps to submit payment.

• You will receive an “Approved” screen when you order/payment has gone through.

Policy 114 - School Viability Review

At the June 18, 2024, Regular Board Meeting the North East School Division Board approved the amendments made to Board Policy 114 – School Viability Review.

The Board Policy was substantively updated to reflect current legislation.  In addition, an appendix was created to clearly articulate timelines. The revised policy was publicly posted on June 20, 2024.

Dear NESD Families:

Welcome to the start of the 2024-25 school year.   As many families know or may have heard, Transportation Services of the North East School Division has faced some challenging times that have led to temporary cancellations of many bus routes.  We understand how critical reliable transportation is to your daily routines, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Current route cancellations are due to several factors: a shortage of mechanics, receiving replacement parts, a lack of casual bus drivers, and delays in the delivery of new buses, initially expected in May 2024 but now postponed to October. Additionally, seven buses from 2020 or newer are out of service due to warranty work. The school division is actively working with the bus vendor to ensure these buses return to operation as soon as possible.

We are working diligently to get our buses back on the road, utilizing third-party assistance for bus maintenance ensuring our busses meet all safety standards before being put into service. To address staffing shortages, we are increasing our recruitment efforts.  In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these challenges.

The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority, and we are committed to improving our services despite these challenges. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Transportation Services at 306-873-4555 or transportation@nesd.ca.

Notice of Intent to Change School Attendance Area Boundaries

Under authority of Section 85(1)(i) and Section 122(1) of The Education Act, 1995 the Board of Education made the following motion at their meeting held September 17, 2024:
